Our planner knew that we requested to have private encounters, all meals eaten while looking at valleys below us, a couple of massages, and solitary trek routes. He tailored it for us, and we had a private cooking class with a Bhutanese chef, definitely a part of the itinerary that became the highlight of the trip. Como Uma Paro was tranquil; Como Uma Punakha put us in touch with culture. The staff at both hotels felt like family to us. They even had an archery lesson included, which was so fun. Fares' Visa arrangement has been stress-free, and SDF was explained clearly. Zero surprises, only good ones. For couples, or for first-timers, it's definitely worth the spend.
Our guide, Chimi, was warm and knowledgeable, never patronizing. Como Uma Paro was my own personal mountain sanctuary. Como Uma Punakha was a little more cultural, set in the valley near sacred sites. Dinners were inventive Bhutanese one night and international the next. Hot-stone spa was therapeutic. Standout quality: transparency with costs in advance, no hidden fees, explained guide tips. Felt like traveling with friends who were from the area.
Traveling solo, they made me feel safe and part of the team. Guide L was a lot of fun to be around, really, genuinely interested in things that interested me. He also did his own thing at my pace and planned according to my interests. Como Uma Paro villa had all of the freedom yet support I would need. Highlights Breakfast and dinner at Como Uma were high points. Flavors rang true, presentations beautiful. It was just right for a four-day solo travel; you could get a taste without any major commitment. Guides were also respectful of alone time. Will definitely return.

Como Uma Punakha was serenity itself, the ideal place to rest our heads. The pace of the itinerary was good; we didn't feel rushed. Food was farm-fresh, and buffet options were plentiful. Not only did she take us to the temples, but she also shared stories with us about monks, history and village life. Como Uma Paro seemed like a tranquil haven to enter after traveling. And it was an even better Como Uma if smaller, greener, and more intimate. The customization was excellent; we added archery and a cooking class without any hassle. Guides had become Bhutanese friends by the end. Booking was easy and clear.

They took us to puny family homes in Punakha, where we learned to cook real, honest-to-goodness Bhutanese, not tourist stuff. The two Como Uma hotels were luxurious but not snooty. Hot-stone bath post Tiger's Nest hike was heaven. The SDF fee was transparently explained at the beginning, with no hidden charges. The four days felt like a good amount of time without getting too tired. This is a must-see for first-time Bhutaners.
